It’s the weekend and time to think about Charlotte’s weekend events! As the temperatures start creeping upwards, now is the time to get out and enjoy events outside in the community. May 14-16: Armenian Spring Food Festival at St. Sarkis Armenian Church of Charlotte. “It’s time for the Annual Armenian Spring Food Festival! This is a family friendly event! We will have traditional food, drinks and pastries for purchase.
May 14: Live Music: Sunset Session with Thomas Anthony at Gateway Canteen at the Anne Springs Close Greenway, 6 – 9 pm.

May 14: Live Music: Matthews Outdoor Concert Series at Stumptown Park, 6 – 9 pm.
May 14: Friday Night Popup Market at the Armored Cow Brewing Co., 5 – 9 pm. “Friday night at the Cow is where you want to be! Shop from all local artists and vendors every Friday, and munch on delicious grub from a rotating list of food trucks, all while enjoying your favorite brews from Armored Cow.”
May 15: Downtown Stallings – Union County Farmers Market Satellite Location (May – September), 8 am – Noon. “The Town of Stallings is partnering with Union County Farmers market to bring our local farmers and artisans to Stallings Municipal Park every Saturday, 8:00am-Noon, from May-September. These local Farmers and Artisans have been proudly serving Union County for over 30 years! We’re excited to announce, for the first time ever, our very own Stallings Downtown Satellite location for our Farmers Market.”
May 15: Salsa Sweat with Movimiento, 1 pm. “Join Movimiento Dance Academy at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center’s Uptown Sweat event this Saturday at 1:00 PM! Experience “Uptown Sweat” — a free, all-day fitness event at Victoria Yards designed to foster community through movement and music. Registration is required for each class. Hurry! Space is limited.”
May 15: 7th Annual Spring South End Wine and Hops Fest at The Unknown Brewing Company, 1 – 6 pm. “You will still experience wonderful wines, cider and brews paired with live music. Your ticket includes all day samples, souvenir tasting glass and access to all the wines, ciders and craft brews.”
May 15: Virtual Guided Historical Tour of Pompeii Italy (online), 6:30 pm. “Take a virtual guided experience of the archaeological site of Pompeii. See the ruins of location such as the Forum, Thermal Bathes, the Garden of the Fugitives, the Basilica and much more!”
May 16: Maker’s Market CLT at Birdsong Brewing Co, 2 – 6 pm. “Join us for an after brunch shopping experience like no other. Grab a seasonal beverage and shop from 10 local crafters and artists.”

May 16: Low Country Seafood Fest at Nevin Community Park, 3 – 8 pm. “Seafood fest at Nevin Park features a low Country Cuisine of shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, sausage and a boiled egg (Low Country Boil). The second plate will be a fish plate with sides. So, bring your lawn chairs and dancing shoes because the best DJ in the Queen City will be proving the sounds CP THE PEOPLES CHAMP. Tickets must be purchased in advance . this is a BYOB event.”
May 16: Sunday Bluegrass Jam at Petty Thieves Brewing Co., 5 – 7 pm. “Bluegrass Jam Circle by members of the Charlotte Folk Society. Come out for folk, bluegrass, and old time tunes by Charlotte’s finest pickers.”
