Belmont, NC resides about 15 miles west of Uptown Charlotte. This small town has recently been awakened with an influx of breweries, restaurants and shopping opportunities.
A Little History
The original settlement of the Belmont area dates back to the 1750s. About 150 years later, and after much growth in the textile industry, the area within 1/4 mile radius from the intersection of Main Street and the town’s railroad was incorporated as the Town of Belmont.

Flash forward to 2021, and the sleep town of Belmont is stirring with an influx of owner-operated businesses located on and one block off, the same Main Street from long ago. An inviting mix of breweries, specialty shops, antique mall, local markets and restaurants offer something for just about anyone and any taste.
With hiking and biking spots nearby, proximity to Lake Wylie, SC, and the inviting Stowe Park, Belmont is the perfect mix of outdoor adventure and small town charm. While you explore the Belmont area, make sure to visit the Belmont Historic District and the Riverfront Park. And definitely drop by the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens and take the time to center yourself back with nature.
